Description of Project:

In response to our customer’s unique needs, we undertook an ambitious project to apply epoxy coating to 50,000 sq ft of mechanical room floors at their facilities located at 176 South St., Hopkinton, MA. The flooring product utilized was the highly durable PPG Amerlock 2 Epoxy, recognized for its superior adhesion, longevity, and resilience against high traffic and heavy machinery.

The process started with a thorough preparation of the concrete surfaces, ensuring they were clean, dry, and free of any defects that could compromise the epoxy’s adhesion. Surface imperfections were addressed and leveled with a concrete grinder, providing a smooth base for the epoxy application.

Once prepared, we applied the PPG Amerlock 2 Epoxy, a high-performance coating designed for tough industrial environments. This epoxy not only protects the floor from potential damage but also imparts a glossy sheen that enhances the visual aesthetics of the space.

In addition to the general coating, the project also included the application of yellow color banding on specific pads. This involved carefully taping off the designated areas before applying the yellow epoxy to create clear, precise bands. These bands serve as a visual guide, promoting safe navigation and efficient workflow within the mechanical room.

Arthur Cole Painting Corporation is proud to have significantly improved the durability, safety, and appearance of our customer’s mechanical room floors. Get in touch with us to learn more and get a quote for industrial epoxy floors and more industrial coatings.
